Virendra Vats is a celebrated Hindi poet, journalist, and thinker whose words capture the pulse of the nation — from the sacred banks of the Ganga to the changing face of modern India. With an illustrious career spanning over three decades in journalism, he has been a guiding voice in literature, culture, and social thought.

Early Life & Education

Born on 2 January 1963 in Gopalpur Sarai Khwaja, Sultanpur (U.P.), Virendra Vats grew up surrounded by the simplicity of rural life and the richness of Indian tradition.
He completed his M.A. in Hindi Literature from Allahabad University (1986) and began his journey into the world of words and expression.

Journalism & Creative Journey

For over 33 years, he served in leading Hindi newspapers like Swatantra Bharat, Dainik Jagran, and Hindustan.
He retired in 2021 as News Editor, Hindustan (Lucknow), leaving behind a legacy of meaningful journalism and thought-provoking writing.
Through his pen, he explored themes of politics, society, and culture — always with a poetic heart.

The Poet of the People

Virendra Vats has written songs for major Republic Day tableaux (2021–2025) representing Uttar Pradesh — including the much-loved lines:

“विश्वनाथ से मिलकर पुलकित है गंगा की धारा…”
“जहाँ अयोध्या सियाराम की देती समता का संदेश…”
“स्वर्ग लोक की आभा उतरी तीर्थराज के आंगन में…”

His works are also featured on leading literary platforms like Aaj, Amar Ujala Kavya, Hindwi, and Kavita Kosh.
He has appeared on Doordarshan and Aakashvani, with his poetry recited and admired nationwide.
